• Closed as program error.

Error description

• While running viosbr
  viosbr -backup -file myfilename
  Error adding sisscsia1 to table
  Error backing up VIOS config data for controller
  ERROR: ERROR while processing sisscsia1
  ERROR: Error backing up VIOS config data for CONTROLLERS
  ERROR-  Error backing up VIOS config data
  
  This only happens when there are duplicate location codes
  for sisscsi adapters
  ala
  sisscsia0 Available 03-08 U1234.001.DQDTWGM-P1
      PCI-X Ultra320 SCSI Adapter
  sisscsia1 Available 0A-08 U1234.001.DQDTWGM-P1
      PCI-X Ultra320 SCSI Adapter
  
  NOTE:  this is not for duplicate USB or LHEA adapters,
  those are addressed under IV18224
  

Local fix

• Work around:  Remove duplicate adapter if it is
  unnecessary
  

Problem summary

• VIOS backup and restore fails when PCI-X Ultra320
  dual channel SCSI adapter with same Location Code
  (DRC) are present.
  
  viosbr command may throw up errors similar to:
  Error adding sisscsia1 to table
  Error backing up VIOS config data for controller
  ERROR: ERROR while processing sisscsia1
  ERROR: Error backing up VIOS config data for CONTROLLERS
  ERROR-  Error backing up VIOS config data
  

Problem conclusion

• The PCI-X Ultra320 dual channel SCSI adapters can have same DRC
  and viosbr code is fixed to handle this situation.
