Content

Introduction
11.0p12001 replaces 11.0p12000 as the patch to upgrade Guardium appliances from version 11.5 to version 12.0. This patch, 11.0p12001, contains all updates and fixes in 11.0p12000, and resolves known issues and limitations with the 11.0p12000 upgrade process.

After you install 11.0p12001 and complete the upgrade, the appliance will be at the same end state as 11.0p12000. Install the latest bundles after upgrade to ensure all known issues are fixed.
See the "Upgrading to Guardium 12.0" section of the Guardium 12.0 release notes for details and steps.
Prerequisites
The latest Guardium Data Protection pre-upgrade health check patch 11.0p9998.
Primary changes
Allows upgrade for appliances with small swap partition
Appliances with more than 64 GB RAM have a smaller swap partition, which was not supported in 11.0p12000. You can install 11.0 p12001 on appliances with any RAM or swap partition size. To allow this, available space in the /var partition will be reduced by 25 GB after 11.0p12001 is installed. The space is used to preserve upgrade ISO and files while the OS is upgraded.
Improves handling of backup servers user and password
The upgrade sends an "upgrade backup" file to the server defined in system backup page. 11.0p12001 fixes several known issues related to special characters in backup server user and password.
