IT46554: REMOVE REPLNODE, DELETE SERVER AND REMOVE REPLSERVER COMMANDS DON'T REMOVE ENTRIES FROM DB2 REPLICATED_FILESPACES TABLE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After REMOVE REPLNODE, DELETE SERVER and REMOVE REPLSERVER
  commands are run on
  the source replication IBM Storage Protect server, the entries
  are not removed
  from db2 replicated_filespaces table.
  
  For example:
  The serverid of the SERVER3 is 2 when running the following
  query logged in as
  instance user on the source replication server:
  # db2 "select serverid,servername from replicating_servers"
  SERVERID   SERVERNAME
  -----------
  ----------------------------------------------------------------
  
          0 SERVER1
          1 SERVER2
          2 SERVER3
  
  After running REMOVE REPLNODE and REMOVE REPLSERVER commands:
  a) REMOVE REPLNODE command
  REMOVE REPLNODE * SERVER=SERVER3
  
  b) DELETE SERVER command
  DELETE SERVER SERVER3
  
  c) REMOVE REPLSERVER command
  REMOVE REPLSERVER
  aa.bb.cc.dd.ee.ff.gg.hh.11.22.33.44.55.66.77.88
  
  This APAR can be identified by running the following SELECTS
  logged in as instance user
  on the source replication server:
  1) The server SERVER3 was removed from the replicating_servers
  table:
  # db2 "select serverid,servername from replicating_servers"
  SERVERID   SERVERNAME
  -----------
  ----------------------------------------------------------------
  
          0 SERVER1
          1 SERVER2
  
  2) The replication_filespaces are still shown for removed
  serverid 2 (previously SERVER3)
  # db2 "select serverid,count(*) from replicated_filespaces group
  by serverid"
  SERVERID   2
  ----------- -----------
          1     987654
          2     123456
  
  If SERVER3 was removed from replicating_servers and the number
  of replicated_filespaces
  is more than 0 for removed replication server, the APAR applies.

Local fix

• To remove entries from db2 replicated_filespaces table, issue
  the command below:
  DELETE FILESPACE <NODENAME> * type=any
  
  for all IBM Storage Protect nodes that were removed with REMOVE
  REPLNODE command.

Problem conclusion

• This problem is currently projected to be fixed in level
  8.1.27.100 and 8.2.0.
