APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Triggering recovery on IW fileset (by running ls -l on root of
    fileset), with afmIOFlag afmRecoveryUseFset set on it causes a
    deadlock - which resolves itself almost after 10 minutes (300
    retries of queueing ofGetattr for the ls command).
    

Local fix

  • Don't trigger recovery on IW fileset using "ls -l" on the
    fileset. Instead use the makeActive subcommand in the mmafmctl.
    

Problem summary

  • Triggering recovery on IW fileset (by running ls -l on root of

    Benefits of the solution:
    Avoid the deadlock IW filesets where recovery files are being
    redirected within the fileset itself instead of /var
    
    Work Around:
    Don't trigger recovery on IW fileset using "ls -l" on the
    fileset. Instead use the makeActive subcommand in the mmafmctl.
