APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Tasks end yet the sessions that they own remain active.

This leads to a build up of active sessions and eventually the
CICS region needs to be recycled in order to free them off.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IPIC Sessions remain active and *
    * associated to tasks that are no longer *
    * in the region when IPCONN attribute *
    *                      MIRRORLIFE(TASK) is used.               *
    ****************************************************************
It is possible that IPIC sessions can remain active and
associated to tasks which have ended. This can happen when the
client region has multiple server regions to co-ordinate the
resolution of recoverable work at end of task.

This issue arises as a result of the life of the mirror task
being incorrectly extended past the life of the client task when
    the IPCONN definition specifies MIRRORLIFE(TASK).

Problem conclusion

  • CICS has been changed so that the mirror task is correctly
terminated when the client task ends.
