• There is a timing window between different threads doing index
  page cleanup that can lead to ABEND 04E 00C200B0 in
  DSNB1REL OFFSET0257E

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND04E RC00C200B0,                    *
  *                      LOC=DSNIDM.DSNB1REL OFFSET0257E         *
  *                      was issued when the index               *
  *                      pseudo-delete cleanup thread            *
  *                      released an index page,                 *
  *                      and the index page was a zero page.     *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available          *
  ****************************************************************
  When the INDEX_CLEANUP_THREADS subsystem parameter is set to
  a non-zero value, Db2 uses system agents to perform the
  cleanup of committed pseudo-deleted index entries.
  In a very small timing window, the index page may already
  have been deleted and become a zero page. The index cleanup
  thread still tried to access this page and perform cleanup.
  An ABEND04E RC00C200B0, LOC=DSNIDM.DSNB1REL OFFSET0257E
  was issued when the zero page was detected by the buffer
  manager release page call.
  

Problem conclusion

• Db2 code has been updated to tolerate the zero page during
  index pseudo-delete cleanup processing when the index page
  is released.
