How to remove cooling Fan

Objective

* Prerequisites

* CAUTION:
  • Never operate the system without the internal cooling fan, as this can cause overheating, system shutdown, and potential data loss.
  • Do not operate the system with the cover removed for more than 5 minutes.
  1. Review the safety guidelines outlined in the Safety Instructions section.
  2. Complete the steps in Before Working Inside Your System.
  3. Remove the air shroud.


* Steps
  1. Disconnect the internal cooling fan power cable from the system board.
  2. Hold the internal cooling fan securely, press the release tab, and slide the fan out in the direction indicated by the arrow on the fan.

* CAUTION:
  • Avoid holding the fan blades when removing or installing the internal cooling fan.

* Next Steps

Follow the steps in After Working Inside Your System.
  • Install the System Cover: Secure the cover back onto the system.
  • Position the System: Place the system upright on a flat, stable surface.
  • Reconnect Power and Peripherals: Reattach all peripherals and connect the system to the electrical outlet.
  • Power On: Turn on any connected peripherals first, then power on the system itself.

Reinstall the internal cooling fan.
