QRadar: Managed host upgrade fails with "System setup failed" due to License Agreement request

Troubleshooting


Problem

Administrators experience issues upgrading QRadar managed host, the process requests to accept the License Agreement and it fails with a system setup failed error after accepting the agreement:
 
System setup failed.  Please logout/login on the console terminal to reconfigure system.

Note: A managed host upgrade does not require to accept the License Agreement, in this case the request is part of the issue.

Resolving The Problem

  1. SSH to the QRadar console as the root user.
  2. SSH to the managed host where the upgrade fails.
  3. Run the following command:
    echo `date` > /opt/qradar/conf/.configdone
  4. log out and login to the system:
    logout
    login
  5. Run the installer

    Result:
    The installation runs successful without asking to accept the License Agreement.
