Intermittently cannot SSO into Cognos

Troubleshooting


Problem

When attempting to access Cognos portal with SSO, users are instead prompted for the Cognos log in screen.

Symptom

  • issue is intermittent
  • restarting Cognos does not help
  • restarting the OS where Cognos is running on allows it to work again
  • IIS is authenticating successfully (no windows prompt)
  • manual sign on is successful (when prompted at cognos log in screen)
