Abstract
IBM Support for Hyperledger Fabric customers need to upgrade from Hyperledger Fabric version 2.2 to Hyperledger Fabric version 2.5 to remain on a long-term support version of Hyperledger Fabric. This upgrade should be completed by the end of July 2024.

The latest long-term support release of Hyperledger Fabric is version 2.5 and the prior version 2.2 long-term support release is no longer being patched. As a result, it is important for all IBM Support for Hyperledger Fabric customers to upgrade to Hyperledger Fabric version 2.5 to maintain a supportable environment.
Upgrading to Hyperledger Fabric version 2.5 means that you will have access to recent security patches and any Hyperledger Fabric functional fixes. Hyperledger Fabric version 2.2 is not be patched, so to maintain a current security posture, it will be necessary to upgrade to version 2.5. Operating on the latest Hyperledger Fabric long-term support release, version 2.5, also makes it easier and faster to receive any important fixes.
All IBM Support for Hyperledger Fabric customers should plan to upgrade to Hyperledger Fabric version 2.5 by the end of July 2024. For more details on how to upgrade, please refer to the Upgrading to a new version of Fabric documentation topic.
