Question
Installing a WebSphere Java SDK interim fix fails with a message referring to PH57668, like the following:
ERROR: Problems were found with the set of packages and fixes.
ERROR: Problems were found with the packages and fixes in package group IBM WebSphere Application Server V8.5.
ERROR: APAR PH57668 is required by 8.5.5.11-WS-WASBundledSDK8-LinuxX64-IFPH58104.
How do I fix this issue?
Cause
Beginning with IBM Java 8.0.8.10, WebSphere Java SDK interim fixes depend on an additional interim fix, PH57688.
PH57668 is both published to online repositories and co-packaged with the downloadable WebSphere Java SDK interim fixes. No separate download is needed.
Answer
You must install interim fix PH57668 before installing 8.0.8.10 or later.
On 8.5.5.24 and earlier, the PH57688 fix must be selected either prior to or concurrent with the WebSphere Java SDK interim fix
- When using the IBM Installation Manager GUI, simply select both fixes.
- When using a downloaded interim fix with "imcl", the "updateAll" option can be used to install both fixes simultaneously.
- When using online repositories with "imcl", determine the fix ID of the PH57668 fix then add it as an additional argument while installing the SDK interim fix.
As an example, installing PH57688 and PH58104 on AIX, Linux, Windows, HP-UX, and Solaris 8.5.5.11-23:imcl install 8.5.5.11-WS-WASProd-DistExceptIBMi-IFPH57668 8.5.5.11-WS-WASBundledSDK8-LinuxX64-IFPH58104 -repositories ...- On z/OS, substitute "zOS" in place of "WASProd-DistExceptIBMi"
- When installing the fix on 8.5.5.24, substitute "8.5.5.24" in place of "8.5.5.11"
On 8.5.5.25 and later, this dependency is automatically satisfied by the fix pack and the WebSphere Java SDK interim fix has no additional dependency.
