Error description

  • When replicating over NFS With KRB plus AD - if there's a user
who is not included in the AD at the primary site who creates a
File, this file is replicated as root to the DR first and then a
Setattr is attempted with the User/Group to which file/dir
belongs to. If the user doesn't exist on AD and is local to
Primary cluster alone, then NFS prevents the Setattr and ergo
the whole Create operation from Primary to DR gets stuck with
    E_INVAL.

Local fix

Problem summary

    E_INVAL.

Problem conclusion

  • This problem is fixed in 5.1.9.2
To see all Spectrum Scale APARs and their respective
    Fix solutions refer to page:
    https://public.dhe.ibm.com/storage/spectrumscale/spectrum_scale_
    apars.html

    Benefits of the solution:
Introducing a special (hidden) config for such situations to be
tuned at the cluster level for AFM Setattr operation to ignore
EINVAL from the remote site in such situations and continue with
    the replication.

    Work Around:
    None

    Problem trigger:
    Trying AFM DR Replication with
NFS + KRB + AD. Having a local user who is not present on the AD
    - leading to NFS rejecting the user id related operations at the
DR and leading to queue being stuck.

    Symptom:
    Unexpected Behavior

    Platforms affected:
    Linux Only

    Functional Area affected:
    AFM

    Customer Impact:
    High Importance
