In IWS 9.4, the composer utility can be used on the FTA after following the instructions through the technote below:

However, once the FTA is upgraded to version 9.5, composer now uses the SSL connection of the dynamic agent to connect to the MDM so there are additional steps that must be followed in order to reestablish connection of composer to the MDM.
