APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• zACS setup appears successful but when trying to run testing for
  
  specific SVC's from the shell like
  ('SYS1.BPN.SBPNEXEC(BPNKNSVC)' '92'), the following JCL error
  message shows up indicating the job fails. IEFC452I jobname -
  JOB NOT RUN - JCL ERROR 757
  
  ANALYSIS:
  zACS code to generate internally used SVC tables to generate the
  
  testing used by commands like ('SYS1.BPN.SBPNEXEC(BPNKNSVC)'
  '92') occurs within BPNGSVCN relies on calls to CSVQUERY and
  NUCLKUP to populate it.
  
  These calls are structured in such a
  way that failure to obtain information on the SVC through both
  calls results in a module name of 8 x'40' characters. This is
  then not properly handled by BPNKNSVC and can result in an
  overly long module name which prevents the inclusion of a
  necessary EXEC statement. The "default" module name is intended
  to be "-" which would result in a usable EXEC statement.
  
  KNOWN IMPACT:
  zACS cannot be run to evaluate the SVC's in error.
  
  VERIFICATION STEPS:
  Review ZACS.SVCNUM dataset for a series of blanks following the
  pointer to the SVC. If this module name section is entirely
  blanks, then this is the same issue.
  

Local fix

• BYPASS/CIRCUMVENTION:
  Manually edit the ZACS.SVCNUM dataset that zACS generates.
  Replace the 3 words of hex blanks between the module pointer and
  
  the eyecatcher for the module with non-blank values such as the
  following.
  
  AAAAAAAA 00000000 00000000
