Content

InstallAnywhere archive (.archive.bin) and installable (.bin) packages of IBM® SDK, Java™ Technology Edition and IBM Semeru Runtime™ Certified Edition will be discontinued starting in the first quarter of 2024 (Service refresh 8 fix pack 20 and 11.0.22.0).
The last delivery which will include InstallAnywhere packages will be the fourth quarter release of 2023 (Service refresh 8 fix pack 15 and 11.0.21.0).
InstallAnywhere packages will be replaced by RPM's (native installers - only for Linux) and extractable tarballs (.tar.gz - for both Linux and AIX). The users of InstallAnywhere packages (.bin) are advised to migrate to use RPMs (for Linux only) and/or extractable tarballs (both Linux and AIX) as needed.
The RPMs and extractable tarballs are available for IBM Semeru Runtime Certified Edition v11 and will be made available for IBM SDK for Java version 8 in the fourth quarter release of 2023 (Service refresh 8 fix pack 15).  This will enable customers to start their migration as needed before the InstallAnywhere binaries are discontinued in the first quarter release of 2024.
