HACP Extended Edition (HACP EE) v4.0 is developed with additional features that enhance the user experience.
The new and enhanced features are listed below:
New Usability features:
Enhancement to existing features:
- Config Server-based model log-in with Microsoft Authentication
- Printer Session RFEs
- Copy Session
- Host file transfer for DBCS
- Fixes for Internal Defects
VT Display Session:
- This feature allows users to create a VT Session to connect to the Host machine and communicate with it through the terminal.
- VT session connects to the host based on the configuration provided. These configurations are available under the properties section.
- Users can communicate with the host through the VT Session terminal by providing appropriate commands.
- A response is generated by the host and shown on the screen based on the passed commands.
FTP Session (Beta):
In HACP EE, users can create an FTP Session to connect the Host machine and transfer files from Local to Host and vice versa. By default, FTP sessions will be disabled in the HACP EE Client. To view FTP sessions in the HACP EE Client, the “EnableFTPsession=true” parameter should be added to the web.properties file.
Note: Users cannot upload and download folders but can upload/download multiple files. By default, the files are downloaded as zip.
EHLLAPI Support:
When an HTML page is configured with Auto-start EHLLAPI Enabler, the active session page can be used with native applications to execute the EHLLAPI function on the page. An active session is required to execute EHLLAPI functions successfully.
Config Server-based model log-in with Microsoft Authentication:
In the Deployment Wizard, under the Configuration server-based model, enable the ‘Automatically log the user on to Host on-Demand using their Windows username’ option, then the HACP EE users can log in to the configuration server-based model page with Microsoft credentials.
To enable Microsoft authentication in HACP EE, users must register the HACP EE application with Microsoft Azure AD using Microsoft credentials. Once done, get the ClientID & Redirect URI and configure it in HACP EE build (EAR/WAR – need to update client id and redirect URI in web.xml file).
Once done with the configuration, launch the config server-based model in HACP EE. While launching user will get the Microsoft authentication pop-up. Users must provide credentials to log in to the config server-based model. If a user exists in the HOD group, a page will be launched, or a new user will be created in the mentioned group and launch the page.
Printer Session RFEs:
- In HACP EE, host file printing allows users to download all files either in Zip or individually with one click.
- Files downloaded in the list are changed to different colors.
- Auto refresh is enabled to refresh the Refresh List link and get updated with new files.
- Also, able to print huge files without losing data.
Copy Session:
Copy Session is available in the context menu of the available sessions. The duplicate icon will be created on the dashboard page by clicking the copy session option.
Host file transfer for DBCS:
JISCII (Send/Receive)
This option is valid for Japanese DBCS sessions only and converts 1-byte codes to EBCDIC and 2-byte codes to IBM Kanji. JISCII inserts shift in/shift out (SI/SO) characters into DBCS fields.
