PH57975: RUNNING A PI JOB YIELDS AN INVALID ERROR MESSAGE WHEN A LOG DD ADDRESSES A VSAM KSDS

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An invalid error message is issued running a PI job when a log
  DD addresses a VSAM KSDS.
  In this case error message " ALZ0114E ALZBRAPI - Init " was
  issued, which is not a valid error message.

  *                      ALZBATCH, if a standard DD Name         *
  *                      three-character prefix, such as CEX,    *
  *                      has a DSN that is not a supported log   *
  *                      format, for example a VSAM KSDS, error  *
  *                      message ALZ0114E ALZBRAPI - Init is     *
  *                      given.                                  *

  ALZBATCH interprets the DDs of various three-character prefixes,
  such as CEX, as being related to various log file types, such as
  CEX Journal files. If the DSN addresses a data set that is not
  a supported log file format, incorrect error message ALZ0114E
  is given.
  The circumvention is to ensure the DSN is of a correct format,
  or remove the DD.
  

Problem conclusion

•  The code is changed to display the following new error message:
   ALZ0116E Data set organization incorrect for
   DDNAME=dddddddd DSN=dsname
