IBM HTTP Server is vulnerable to information disclosure when using the mod_macro module due to the included Apache HTTP Server.

CVEID: CVE-2023-31122
DESCRIPTION: Apache HTTP Server could allow a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information, caused by an out-of-bounds read flaw in the mod_macro module. By sending a specially crafted request, an attacker could exploit this vulnerability to obtain sensitive information, and use this information to launch further attacks against the affected system.

Remediation/Fixes
IBM strongly recommends addressing the vulnerability now by applying a currently available interim fix or fix pack that contains APAR PH57715.
For IBM HTTP Server used by IBM WebSphere Application Server:
For V9.0.0.0 through 9.0.5.17:
· Upgrade to minimal fix pack levels as required by interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH57715
--OR--
· Apply Fix Pack 9.0.5.18 or later (targeted availability 4Q2023).
Additional interim fixes may be available and linked off the interim fix download page.
