APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When ADBTEP2 is called from CMBATCH job (because CMBATCH uses
RRSATTACH option) with USE_DSNUTIL_SP = 'N', utility call will
reset CURRENT SQLID if it was set to a different value before.
In this customer's case this caused -551 SQLCODE error.

Local fix

  • The problem can only be reproduced when running WSL with CMBATCH
 job. So as a workaround the customer can run WSL with job that
calls ADBTEP2.

*                      used to run a work statement list (WSL) *
*                      with the USE_DSNUTIL_SP = 'N' option,   *
*                      the utility run can reset CURRENT       *
*                      SQLID.                                  *
****************************************************************
When CM batch runs a WSL with USE_DSNUTIL_SP = 'N', it resets
the connection to Db2 for a utility run. Therefore, it can
reset CURRENT SQLID if it was set to a different value before
the utility ran. This behavior could result in SQL authorization
errors.

Problem conclusion

  • The problem has been resolved.
