Why do I receive AMQ9428E in the error log of an IBM MQ Partial Repository queue manager?

Question & Answer

Question

In the error log of one of my Partial Repository queue managers, the following error is reported:
AMQ9428E: Unexpected publication of a cluster queue object received ...
.
I want to know what caused the error.

Cause

One possible cause is that in one of the Full Repository queue managers of the cluster,  a Cluster-Sender (ClusSdr) channel was manually defined to this Partial Repository queue manager. As MQ cluster publications will be sent through the manual defined ClusSdr channel on the Full Repository queue manager, then the Partial Repostory queue manager will receive the publication which should be sent to Full Repository queue manager unexpectedly  and it will throw AMQ9428E under this circumstance.

Answer

The proposed solution to solve the AMQ9428E error is to stop and delete, on the Full repository queue manager, the manually defined Cluster-Sender channel pointing to the Partial Repository queue manager, and then issue the start channel command so that the cluster can use the automatic channels again.
