IBM Tivoli Monitoring: VIOS Premium Agent and CEC Base Agent agents will no longer be included and pre-installed on the VIOS system 4.x (and later)

Starting in VIOS 4.1* (and above), the IBM Tivoli Monitoring: VIOS Premium Agent and CEC Base Agent filesets will no longer be included and pre-installed on the VIOS system. Users can download and install the agents separately from an updated IBM Tivoli Monitoring System P Agents 6.22 Fix Pack 4 bundle. The updated bundle includes the latest agent code and updates the shared components (e.g. JRE, GSKit) to the ITM 6.30 FP7 SP13 level. The agents in the bundle can be used to do a new install, or can be used to upgrade an existing agent to the levels in the bundle.
The IBM Tivoli Monitoring: System P Agents 6.2.2 Fix Pack 4 readme file containing information about how to obtain the image and instructions for installing. When the IBM Tivoli Monitoring VIOS and CEC agents are installed in the default directory of /opt/IBM/ITM, they can continue to utilize the VIOS cfgsvc, startsvc, and stopsvc commands to configure, start and stop the agents.
In VIOS 3.x, IBM Tivoli Monitoring: VIOS Premium Agent and CEC Base Agent filesets continue to be pre-installed. The agents can be updated using one of the methods below:
- To update the agent and shared components (e.g. JRE, GSKit) to the level in this fix pack, download and install the image as documented in the IBM Tivoli Monitoring System P Agents 6.22 Fix Pack 4 bundle (readme link provided above).
- To update just the agent shared components (e.g JRE, GSKit), the latest ITM service pack can be installed. When the ITM Service Pack install is run, it will update the ITM shared components for any agent to the level in the service pack.
