Question & Answer
Question
One currently has a Stored Procedure with a 1 Meg Parameter XML data type defined which is coming across a DRDA connection. It is possible that there will be multiple calls of the same Stored Procedure before a COMMIT is sent. Does the DB2 DSNZPARM LOBVALA value need to be cumulative, i.e. if one has 15 calls to this Stored Procedure before a COMMIT, does one need 15 Megs defined for the LOBVALA parameter?
Cause
Having some issues with the setting of the DB2 DSNZPARM LOBVALA and with users receiving RC00C900D1 ABENDs. The value for LOBVALA has been doubled already and it may need to be doubled again.
Answer
Yes. The usage is *cumulative for the agent*, i.e. if processing 15 LOBs, then the total size of those 15 must not exceed the LOBVALA value.
Also, from a search in our APAR/PTF database, the following three APAR/PTFs should be reviewed and APPLY'd.
