IBM Business Automation Manager Open Editions support statement for Kubernetes platforms

General Page

IBM Business Automation Manager Open Editions (BAMOE) bring cloud-native technologies that work smoothly with containers and container orchestrators such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.
IBM Business Automation Manager Open Editions (BAMOE) containers support those Kubernetes distributions referenced in IBM’s BAMOE Documentation or Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR).

BAMOE support is limited to the commercially available Kubernetes engine within a certified Kubernetes platform. For IBM technical support for other Cloud Native services, refer to the Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR).

IBM does not warrant that all code defects will be corrected in these environments.  If the defect is also applicable in a fully supported environment, we will issue a defect correction, restriction, or workaround. Issues found in Kubernetes distributions not listed in the documentation or SPCR might require the problem to be re-created in another certified Kubernetes environment (for example, Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform). If the problem does not occur or cannot be re-created in the certified environment, it will not be considered an IBM product defect.

Clarifications

  • To allow the correct deployment of IBM BAMOE, the support provider for a Kubernetes platform must take care of the configuration of the Kubernetes cluster. If the provider cannot resolve a problem with the platform, IBM Support reserves the right to deem the version, release, or fix pack of the platform to be "not supported."

  • Installations of IBM BAMOE must be done on a Kubernetes distribution referenced in the offering documentation and which meets the minimum requirements as reflected in the Software Product Compatibility Reports (SPCR).  Any deviations from SPCR will be considered on a case-by-case basis and supported under commercially reasonable efforts.

  • For Kubernetes platforms other than Red Hat OpenShift, IBM cannot assist with Kubernetes environment setup tasks.

  • Kubernetes platform provider services not described in the documentation or SPCR might not be able to interact with the BAMOE containers as expected. For example, the containers might not be able to send information that is used by certain monitoring and logging services.

  • IBM technical support for BAMOE is limited to the code that is developed by IBM. On OpenShift, it also covers the configuration of the environment for the correct deployment of BAMOE, including network configuration, load balancing, and security.
