Openssl does not tolerate dash “–“ in the hostname

Troubleshooting


Problem

You might not be able to complete the installation or having keystone connections issues and other,  due to

openssl will not accept the  dash ”“  in the name powervc-test.com

You could use the command below to identify the error:

openssl s_client -connect powervc-test.your.domain.com:5000 -showcerts

Please note this is OS related issue, rather than PowerVC

Resolving The Problem

You could rename the hostname via

hostnamectl set

powervctest.com

Then you will need to edit /etc/hosts as well
