How to remove OBSOLETE items from the Count Book app

If you have a Count Book with an obsolete item, this can cause future problems with other applications.

For example, Maximo Mobile uses the data from the Count Book line in the Count Book app and doesn’t check the ITEM status.

Currently, there’s 2 APAR to resolve these issues:

IJ47916 to avoid a physical count on OBSOLETE items and IJ48300 to avoid a Count Book with an OBSOLETE item to be duplicated.

But if you currently have a Count Book with an OBSOLETE item, you need to recreate the Count Book Lines to exclude those items from there. To do that use the steps:

- Open the Count Book

- Change the "Selection Type" field

If you have ALL for example, change it to BIN, save it, then change it back to ALL.

This action re-creates the Count Book Line and you should not see those OBSOLETE items in there anymore, this will also avoid problems in other apps, such as the Mobile Inventory Counting app.
