Troubleshooting
Problem
This technote provides the steps necessary to collect data and logs for IBM AIOps Insights Agent (Linux & Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift).
Resolving The Problem
Linux Agent Data Collection:
- Open Infrastructure map

- Open Agent dashboard
1. Search for the Linux host (for example, entity.host.name:<regex matching host name>), where the agent is running
2. Click the filtered host
3. Click Open dashboard
3. Click Open dashboard

- Collect the following details and upload to IBM Support website.
1. Agent Configuration

2. Agent logs in DEBUG mode
Toggle for INFO or DEBUG mode for the agent log is a real-time toggle. If the current Log level is INFO, then change it to DEBUG. Re-create the problem so that we have the appropriate data, or, at least wait a couple of minutes so that the problem re-occurs with the correct data in the log.

3. Sensors information

Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift Agent Data Collection:
- Open Infrastructure map

- Open Agent dashboard
1. Search for the Kubernetes / Red Hat OpenShift host (for example, entity.kubernetes.node.name:<regex matching node name>), where the agent is running
2. Click the filtered host
3. Click Open dashboard
3. Click Open dashboard

- Collect the following details and upload to IBM Support website.
1. Agent Configuration

2. Sensors information

3. Agent logs
For Kubernetes or Red Hat OpenShift Agent data collection, we recommend you use the command:
./aiopsinsights-mustgather.sh -DO agent -W 'GMGFVAR_MODE=AGENT'
Once the MustGather tool is executed successfully, upload output data file under the "/tmp/mg" (or directory of your choice through the "-o" option) directory to IBM Support website.
IMPORTANT: Make sure to uncompress the downloaded AIOps Insights MustGather package in its own directory (not sharing with any other files or directories).
If you use a terminal for download, the command is:
wget https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/system/files/inline-files/aiopsinsights-mustgather-v0.1.6.tar.gz
NOTE: Download the attached script to any machine that has valid access to the target cluster (able to run 'oc' / 'kubectl' command successfully).
