IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty is vulnerable to a denial of service with the restfulWS-3.0 or restfulWS-3.1 feature enabled. This has been addressed in the remediation section.

DESCRIPTION: IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by sending a specially-crafted request. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the server to consume memory resources.

Remediation/Fixes
IBM strongly recommends addressing the vulnerability now by applying a currently available interim fix or fix pack that contains the APAR PH56004. To determine if a feature is enabled for IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty, refer to How to determine if Liberty is using a specific feature.
For IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 22.0.0.13 - 23.0.0.7 using the restfulWS-3.0 or restfulWS-3.1 feature(s):
· Upgrade to minimal fix pack levels as required by interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH56004
--OR--
· Apply Liberty Fix Pack 23.0.0.8 or later (targeted availability 3Q2023).
