Problem summary

• ****************************************************************
  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM Z Performance and Capacity  *
  *                 Analytics version 3.1.0 who utilize Cognos   *
  *                 reports for Capacity Planning for z/OS       *
  *                 - CPU subcomponent.                          *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1) The Trend Comparison reports do not  *
  *                      allow for reporting of MSU usage.       *
  *                      The reports do not have links           *
  *                      to and are not located in the Capacity  *
  *                      Planning CPU reports folder.            *
  *                      2) The Forecast reports do not allow    *
  *                      for reporting of MSU usage.The CP LPAR  *
  *                      Forecast Hourly report does not show    *
  *                      weekly by hour forecast.                *
  *                      3) The Show Top filter on the CP Job    *
  *                      Top Consumers report does not apply the *
  *                      correct sorting for the Hourly and SMF  *
  *                      Intervals.                              *
  *                      4) On the Processor Model Analysis      *
  *                      report, selection of an Hourly or SMF   *
  *                      Interval may result in poor report      *
  *                      performance.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
  ****************************************************************
  1) The Trend Comparison reports require an additional filter to
  allow for reporting of MSU usage. The reports require links to
  and relocation to the Capacity Planning CPU reports folder.
  2) The Forecast reports require an additional filter to allow
  for reporting of MSU usage. The static aggregation level filter
  on the CP LPAR Foreast Hourly report is not required. The
  aggregation level needs to be concatenated to the dates
  displayed in the Forecast Timestamp filter.
  3) The Show Top function on the CP Job Top Consumer report
  requires time context when Report Detail is set to Hourly or
  SMF Interval.
  4) The Hourly and SMF Interval options need to be removed from
  the Report Level filter on the Processor Model Analysis report.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1) The Trend Comparison reports are modified to include an
  option for reporting MIPS or MSU usage. These reports are
  further modified to:
  * Display comparison charts for monthly, weekly, and daily MIPS
  or MSU usage.
  * Provide links to related Capacity Planning reports.
  * Be located within the Capacity Planning z/OS > CPU directory.
  2) The Forecast reports are modified to include an option for
  reporting MIPS or MSU usage. The Forecast Timestamp filter now
  displays date, aggregation level and forecast algorithm. The
  order in which the report filters are displayed are modified
  so the Forecast Timestamp is selected prior to the other
  forecast parameters. The static aggregation level filter on the
  CP LPAR Foreast Hourly report is removed.
  3) The Show Top filter on the CP Job Top Consumer report
  takes into account Time for grouping and ranking values.
  4) Hourly and SMF Interval Report Detail levels are removed from
  the Processor Model Analysis report.
