IBM Storage Virtualize IP quorum application requirements

For configurations using a system IP quorum application or a partnership IP quorum application, ensure that the IP network satisfies the following common requirements:

• Connectivity from the servers that are running an IP quorum application to the service IP or quorum IP addresses of all nodes or node canisters.
• The network must deal with security implications of exposing the service IP addresses, as this connectivity can also be used to access the service assistant interface when the IP network security is configured incorrectly.
• Caution must be taken not to expose the Service IP address, as it is possible to access the Service assistant interface when the IP network is configured incorrectly.
• For systems running 9.1.2.0 or later, to avoid exposing management network addresses (e.g. Service IPs or Cluster IPs), users may use a quorum IP address, which provides a more secure alternative.
• Port 1260 can be used by the IP quorum application to communicate from the server to all nodes or node canisters.
• The maximum round-trip delay must not exceed 80ms (milliseconds), which means 40ms in each direction.
• A minimum bandwidth of 2 megabytes per second is required for traffic between the system and the quorum application
