IJ46382: MMRESTRIPEFS MAY REPORT FALSE POSITIVE REPLICA MISMATCHES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• mmrestripefs  devicename  --check-conflicting-replicas
  may incorrectly report that some inodes have a replica
  mismatch, meaning that there are multiple copies of a
  block in different failure groups, and the contents of
  those copies do not match. In actuality, the replicas
  do match but the comparison is not performed correctly
  for some metadata blocks.
  
  The issue was observed with symbolic links under AFM,
  although there could be other scenarios where this issue
  could happen.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• Online replica compare function could incorrectly flag replica
  mismatch on certain metadata file such as symbolic link in an
  AFM enabled file system.
