Error description

  • In releases prior to z/OS V2R5, you could delete a databases
    from option 3.4, then immediately reallocate it by typing AL /
    on
    the same line as the deleted data set. In V2R5, after deleting
    the data set, the AL / returns "Volume not available" and the
    long message says " Volume '' not mounted or not authorised for
    your use."  The message id is: ISRD034.

Problem conclusion

  • After deleting a dataset/databases from asp 3.4, you should be
    able to immediately reallocate it by typing AL/ on the same line
    as the deleted data set. You should not see "Volume not
    available" and the long message says " Volume '' not mounted
     or not authorized for your use.
    A volume  ' ' was added and the issue was fixed. The user
    should not see any error msg when deleting a data set
    and then using the AL / command on the same data set.
