Abstract
Action Required for IBM Storage Protect for Cloud July 2023
Content
Good news! We are enhancing IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Microsoft 365 OneDrive backups to further align with GraphAPI updates that Microsoft has released. As of the July release, July 2nd 2023, these IBM Storage Protect for Cloud Microsoft 365 enhancements will roll out to Storage Protect for Cloud global data centers. These GraphAPI updates will require corresponding updates to the Microsoft 365 App Profile permissions and as such, re-authorization of the SP4C M365 App will be required. If you are currently leveraging the Storage Protect for Cloud Microsoft 365 App Profile, please reauthorize your app before the July release date in order to prevent any potential impacts to your service; backups may fail. https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/sppos?topic=365-re-authorize-app-microsoft
If you are leveraging a custom app, then please add the following permissions to your custom app by June 30th, 2023 to prevent service impacts:
• Files.ReadWrite.All and Sites.ReadWrite.All – Required to back up and restore OneDrive for Business
files.
• Sites.Manage.All – Required to create lists and to retrieve list items via Microsoft Graph in scenarios
where list has content approval settings enabled.
• Sites.FullControl.All – Required to back up some special conditions such as DLP sensitive files.
• User.Read.All - Required to fetch author/editor user UPN for appropriate restore purposes.
