Error description

  • While monitoring Hitachi device with performance monitoring
disabled the capacity tab with data resolution of daily selected

may show gaps in data even though data collection (probe)
is successfully running daily and sample data does not have
gaps. Switching to an hourly resolution shows 1 entry per day
for the same timeframe that is missing the daily aggregation
rather than hourly entries. Daily and hourly aggregation
should be occurring based on the successful collection of the
probe data. This behavior only appears with some Hitachi
devices. Other devices show accurate hourly and daily
    aggregation.

Local fix

  • Enabling performance monitoring on the Hitachi device
    will prevent this issue.

Problem conclusion

  • For those Storage Insights users monitoring Hitachi device
we strongly recommend enabling performance monitoring
to ensure this limitation is not encountered.
