APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The problem happens when centralized update is performed on a
FTA target with no DA installed. This issue happens during the
download phase of the agent image that will be used for the
update from MDM to FTA. The transport of the image from MDM to
FTA fails due to the incorrect folder
(/opt/IBM/IWS/TWSDATA/ITA/cpa/ita/cert) is being referenced on
the download command.

The download command is using
/opt/IBM/IWS/TWSDATA/ITA/cpa/ita/cert to look for the
TWSClientKeyStore keystore. On FTA with no DA installed, the
TWSClientKeyStore keystore is located on
/opt/IBM/IWS/TWSDATA/ssl/GSKit. With this scenario, the
handshake fails due to certificates not being found, which
ultimately causes the download of image to fail as well.

Local fix

  • As a workaround, the TWSClientKeyStore files can be copied from
/opt/IBM/IWS/TWSDATA/ssl/GSKit to
/opt/IBM/IWS/TWSDATA/ITA/cpa/ita/cert. Then, re-run the
centralized update and it will be successful.
