When attempting to playback a newly recorded HTTP test, an error message like the following appears: RPTA4040I Fatal error translating the element for type 'com.ibm.rational.test.lt. models.behavior.http.HTTPPage'. com.ibm.rational.test.lt.codegen.core.lang.FatalTranslationExcep tion: java.util.regex.PatternSyntaxException: Illegal character range near index 20 The error message is generated due to the JSON-based regular expression for an auto-generated reference similar to: JSON:$.['https://hcl.com/qm/qm?lc_config.context=https%3A%2F%2Fh cl.com%2Fgc%2Fconfiguration%2F305'].lcCompact.shortTitle
Local fix
Use a data correlation rules file to remove the reference with the invalid regular expression and to create a new reference with a valid regular expression.
