Error description

  • When Global User Exit XMEOUT programs are in the order of USER
EXIT program first and EYU9XLME is second. The User exit program
returns 4 to suppress an XMEOUT message but EYU9XLME does not
propagate the return code and instead returns 0. The message
presented to XMEOUT is then not suppressed in the CMAS as
    expected.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICSPlex SM users *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages suppressed in a CMAS by a *
    *                      customer's XMEOUT message suppression   *
    * exit do not get suppressed. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF to all CMASes. This can be *
    * done in any order. *
    ****************************************************************
The CMAS XMEOUT message suppression exit EYU9XLME, does not
consider the suppression request from earlier XMEOUT exits and
simply replies do or do not suppress.

When multiple XMEOUT exits give conflicting message suppression
    instructions, the results are unpredictable.

Problem conclusion

  • EYU9XLME has been modified to check for any possible earlier
XMEOUT exit request, pointed to by the UEPCRCA input parameter.
If an earlier exit requests message suppression EYU9XLME will
    agree to suppress the message.
