  • Admin Tool:  (V13 Only) REORG PART x without COPYDDN
when using panel ADB2314




DESCRIPTION:


With ADMIN V13, when using primary command REORG on panel
ADB2314 (table space maintenance panel), the resulting JCL for
the REORG commands did not contain the COPYDDN keyword or
SYSCOPY DD defined, causing an error during submission of the
JCL.

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of Db2 Administration Tool for z/OS    *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The user wants to run the REORG utility *
*                      on table spaces that are recommended by *
*                      Db2 performance query 14 on panel ADB23 *
*                      (option 3 from main panel). The         *
*                      generated REORG JCL does not have the   *
*                      COPYDDN template requested by the user  *
*                      nor the COPYDDN parameter in the REORG  *
*                      statement.                              *

The user is using the Db2 performance queries to find the table
spaces that need to have real-time statistics updated. The user
chooses option 14 from panel ADB23. JCL is created for the user,
but the COPYDDN template and COPYDDN parameter are not included,
and REORG fails.

Problem conclusion
