There is a vulnerability in the GraphQL Java library used by IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty when the feature mpGraphQL-1.0 or mpGraphQL-2.0 is enabled. This has been addressed in the remediation section.
DESCRIPTION: GraphQL Java is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by a stack-based buffer overflow. By sending a specially crafted GraphQL query, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a stack consumption.

For IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 220.127.116.11 - 18.104.22.168 using the mpGraphQL-1.0 or mpGraphQL-2.0 feature(s):
· Upgrade to minimal fix pack levels as required by interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH54373
· Apply Liberty Fix Pack 22.214.171.124 or later (targeted availability 2Q2023).
