Abstract

This paper outlines the steps required to deploy Oracle® Real Application Cluster (RAC) on AIX on the IBM® Power Systems Virtual Server infrastructure which is an IBM Power based off-premises offering that utilizes Power servers, networking, PowerVMTM virtualization technology, and SAN based storage. This is identical to what customers could deploy as a certified Oracle stack on Power systems in their own data center. With this offering you can quickly create and deploy one or more logical partitions (LPARs) that are running on either AIX®, IBM i or the Linux operating system. Specifically, this paper will describe the configuration process for installing and configuring Oracle RAC version 19c in the Power Virtual Server environment.
