Problem
When you upload a Rich Text Format (RTF) document that includes an embedded PPTX or DOCX to IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next (DNG), the mouse-over preview of mathematical formula text is garbled.
When you upload a DOCX or PPTX document that contains mathematical formula text directly to DNG, the mouse-over preview displays all text except for mathematical formulas.
Symptom
The issue can be reproduced in one of two ways.
- Upload the sample RTF file that embeds an MS PowerPoint document with mathematical formulas.
- Upload an MS Word (docx) or MS PowerPoint (pptx) file that contains mathematical formulas directly to DNG.
When you create the MS Word (docx) or MS PowerPoint (pptx) file, enter and save mathematical formulas in it by using the Equation feature.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Download the attached sample.rtf. Alternatively, create a new MS Word or MS PowerPoint document that contains mathematical formulas.
2) Upload the file as a new artifact.
3) Open the artifact to see the document preview.
Expected Results:
The document preview shows all of the text, including the mathematical formulas.
Actual Results:
If you embedded the DOCX or PPTX file in an RTF file before you uploaded, the mathematical formula text is garbled.
If you uploaded the DOCX or PPTX file directly to the server, all text except for the mathematical formula text is displayed.
