IBM MQ Explorer fails to install in Linux: JRE libraries are missing or not compatible

You are trying to install IBM MQ Explorer in Linux, but you get an error:
# ./Setup.bin -i console

JRE libraries are missing or not compatible....

You have checked that the OS is the proper one and that all the files provided with the MQ Explorer download file are available (that is, you have not deleted files related to the installation).
