After upgrading to 9.2.31, in some cases, it is not possible to update the License Metric Tool database schema

Troubleshooting

Problem

Under some rare circumstances, after upgrading License Metric Tool to application update 9.2.31, you might observe problems with updating the database schema. It specifically manifests itself when a REST API for export and import of saved report was used in the past.
The issue is planned to be fixed in the next application update of License Metric Tool.

Symptom

Upgrade fails with the following error message:
"Applying post server upgrade database changes failed. It might happen when you are installing a new instance of License Metric Tool and using a database from the old instance. In such case, the behavior is expected. For more information, refer to the tema.log file."

Resolving The Problem

To work around the issue, perform the following steps on the existing License Metric Tool server (the one on which the upgrade failed):
1. Download the Migration_scripts.zip file.
2. Overwrite three migration files that exist in the following folder with the migration scripts that are attached in the Migration_scripts.zip package that you downloaded in step 1:
  • For Windows: 'lmt_install_dir\wlp\usr\servers\server1\apps\tema.war\WEB-INF\domains\sam\db\migrate'
  • For Linux: 'lmt_install_dir/wlp/usr/servers/server1/apps/tema.war/WEB-INF/domains/sam/db/migrate'
3. Restart the License Metric Tool server to load the new scripts.
     a. Stop the server.
     b. Start the server.
4.Access the License Metric Tool user interface and complete the remaining setup.
