PH52883: DFR DOES NOT RECOVER SDEP PRE-ALLOCATED CI'S (PACI'S) WHICH WEREHARDENED BY THE SCAN UTILITY

Error description

• DFR does not recover Sequential Dependent (SDEP) preallocated
  CI's ( PACI's ) which were hardened by the SCAN utility. This is
  due to DFR discarding PACI information that was written to DASD.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IMS DEDB Fast Recovery (DFR) does not   *
  *                      harden preallocated but not used SDEP   *
  *                      CIs when they have been written to the  *
  *                      ADS.                                    *
  ****************************************************************
  IMS DEDB Fast Recovery (DFR) does not harden preallocated SDEP
  CIs (PACIs) which are not used when they have been written to
  the ADS.
  
  It happens when PACIs were hardened by DBFUMSC0 ( SDEP SCAN )
  before running DFR. This may cause an issue that DBFUMDL0
  ( SDEP DELETE ) cannot delete SDEP segments correctly.
  
  The cause of this problem is that DFR discards information of
  unused PACIs when it processes X'5953' log. However, it should
  keep PACIs information and harden them if it does not find
  X'5953' log which was written by ERE or AREA CLOSE process.
  

Problem conclusion

• DFR has been modified to harden PACIs with dummy segment
  'DEFAULT STOPRBA SEGMENT RESTART' and turn on DBLKF1SDEP_FULL
  in CI prefix when it finds unused PACIs.
