When complex query plans exist within SQE on IBM i 7.5, the query engine has the option to compress the plan, reducing the total memory footprint related to the SQL Plan Cache. Further, when running on Power 10, the compression and decompression of such plans can leverage ZLIB compression technology along with hardware acceleration, thus reducing the time it takes to manage complex plans in the SQL Plan Cache.
