OpenSSL is used in IBM SONAS for providing communication security by encrypting data being transmitted.
CVEID: CVE-2017-3731
DESCRIPTION: OpenSSL is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an out-of-bounds read when using a specific cipher. By sending specially crafted truncated packets, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability using CHACHA20/POLY1305 to cause the application to crash.

The product is affected when running a code releases 1.5.0.0 to 1.5.2.5
Remediation/Fixes
A fix for these issues is in version 1.5.2.6 of IBM SONAS. Customers running an affected version of SONAS should upgrade to 1.5.2.6 or a later version, so that the fix gets applied.
