OpenSSL is used in IBM SONAS for providing communication security by encrypting data being transmitted.
CVEID: CVE-2016-8610
DESCRIPTION: SSL/TLS protocol is vulnerable to a denial of service, caused by an error when processing ALERT packets during a SSL handshake. By sending specially-crafted packets, a remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause the application to stop responding.

The product is affected when running a code releases 1.5.0.0 to 1.5.2.5
Remediation/Fixes
A fix for this issue is in version 1.5.2.6 of IBM SONAS. Customers running an affected version of SONAS should upgrade to 1.5.2.6 or a later version, so that the fix gets applied.
