Abstract
FlashSystem 5035 encryption keys stored on an attached USB memory stick will be erased if the system is upgraded to V8.5.3.1.
Content
If a FlashSystem 5035 using encryption is upgraded to V8.5.3.1, this process will erase the encryption keys stored on USB memory sticks attached to the system. Subsequent events that require access to the encryption keys, for example following a system power-down, will result in the encrypted data being unrecoverable.
FlashSystem 5035 clients using encryption that have already upgraded to V8.5.3.1 are encouraged to contact IBM as soon as possible for assistance in recovering their encryption keys.
No other products in the FlashSystem or Spectrum Virtualize lines are affected by this issue.
This issue will be resolved by APAR SVAPAR-91111 in a future release.
