Abstract

IBM ProtecTIER systems running version 3.3 will require upgrading to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.11 prior to installing ProtecTIER version 3.4

IBM ProtecTIER customers running version 3.3.x, 3.2.x and 3.1.8 or later can obtain the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.11 release by either:

1) Contacting your IBM Sales Representative or Business Partner and ordering the "TS7650G 3.4 Software Update Ship Group", Media Feature Number 5806.

2) Registering at the Entitled Systems Support site (http://www-304.ibm.com/servers/eserver/ess/OpenServlet.wss). Registration can be done either by system serial or software customer number (including the country code). For additional instructions on how to register your IBM systems, or how to find your country code, click the "Help" link and refer to the "ESS_Registration_IBM_Customers_Guides June2016" document.

Access to the Entitled Systems Support site does require an IBM ID, if you don't have an IBM ID you can request one here: https://www.ibm.com/account/us-en/signup/register.html

After registering, select "Software Downloads", then the "ProtecTIER Enterprise" option for the list of software products. You may select to download the entire "TS7650G 3.4 Software Update Ship Group", or just the "IBM System Storage ProtecTIER Maintenance and Recovery" iso image which is the Red Hat 5.11 release.
