Solution
IBM strongly recommends updating to the new firmware immediately. The firmware update is a non-disruptive operation and can be performed in the background. It does not require a system reboot. Download the firmware from the IBM Nseries Support website.
In addition, Data ONTAP enhancements have been implemented to improve hardware induced error handling in a non-disruptive manner. Consequently, for systems having releases less than 7.3.7P1, 8.0.3P3, 8.1.2, or 8.2P2, it is highly recommended to upgrade Data ONTAP. Customers can download the latest versions of Data ONTAP by choosing their platform from the IBM Nseries Support website. This upgrade will reduce the probability of a disruption for these issues, improve system stability and enhance diagnostic capabilities.
