Switches using new OUI ethernet prefix cannot be managed properly by Fabric Manager.
Starting in February 2010 Cisco began using new Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) prefixes in the ethernet addresses of MDS and Nexus 5000 models. The Fabric Manager application was modified to recognize these new OUI prefixes as Cisco. If you introduce a new switch into a network that you manage with an older version of Fabric Manager, you may experience one of the following problems:
- Traps are not registered
- The switch is not monitored or discovered properly
- Performance Manager does not collect stats from the switch
- The switch is not included in various wizards, such as FCIP, Security Wizard, Upgrade wizard and the IOA wizard
To resolve the issue upgrade Fabric Manager to one of these versions (depending on the major version you use):
